'A Much Needed Holiday' (2 Parts) by Roger Price

John, Elizabeth and Tim decide that Mike needs a holiday to help him get over Pavla, and they take him to the planet Gallia at the suggestion of Timus. Once there, John wants to investigate the end of the civilisation two-thousand years previously, and he and Elizabeth think Timus may have had an ulterior motive for suggesting they visit Gallia… Meanwhile, aliens known as Kleptons are forcing young boys to work in a mine, but two of the boys escape and are rescued by the Tomorrow People. Apart from their names - Trig and Trog - John, Elizabeth and Mike are unable to understand the boys’ language. John and Mike take them to one of the local settlements, but when Mike and Trog enter the village, everyone flees in fear of them. Aliens then ride up on horseback and capture the two of them, taking Trog's matter transporter belt and sending them to the mine. John scouts around and finds a Klepton spaceship. Mike manages to seize a guard’s gun, and uses it to force the Kleptons to release Trog and return his matter transporter belt, which they use to return to their base. Timus arrives and tells them that the Galactic Federation is not taking action to stop the Kleptons, but is just discussing it, and that the Kleptons are using the boys as hostages as well as workers. He suggests that the slaves should be set free and the Kleptons forced to leave the planet, and so the Tomorrow People formulate a plan to attack at night, when most of the Kleptons are asleep in the spaceship. John and Mike stun the guards and made their way into the mine, followed by Elizabeth, Trig and Trog. But the Klepton leader, Gremlon, finds the stunned guards at the entrance of the mine and blocks the escape route. After a chase Mike manages to overpower Gremlon, and the Tomorrow People transport the Klepton spaceship to a barren planet, Stixus, where they remove the ship’s engines, stranding the Klepton crew.
